Under An Arctic Sky - Amazing Movie/Story about Surfing in Iceland 👊

Realistically... this movie is much more than simply a movie about surfing in Iceland...

I believe I was flying from MN (home) to CO in December to go mountain biking near Los Alamos, NM and I had loaded up a few movies from Netflix to watch on the flight.

One of which was Under An Arctic Sky (http://www.underanarcticsky.com/)



Seriously....

So, I do not want to ruin any of the enjoyment of experiencing the film for the first time but...

A few guys who I found it very engaging as they started a quest that was seemingly hell-bent on chasing obscure goals involving surfing.

"The key to anything that's worth doing is that there has to be some level of uncertainty"

That particular quote really captures the spirit of the particular objective they were filming.   Even simply *thinking* about surfing on the north coast of Iceland seems daunting.  Actually *doing so* is simply something I can not wrap my head around.

And it's not all roses.. there are some challenges and unexpected turns during the film and you'll get sucked in.

Anyhow.. this movie definitely triggered some emotion which has resulted in motivation to utilize my time more optimally.  Life is what you make it... and I chose to make it awesome.

Entitlement: online edition... (just a rant ;-)

This post is going to deviate a bit from my normal posts, but it's something I wanted to document and review... to see if I don't feel crazy about my views later. Somehow I have managed to end up on the surprising side of a conversation... Net Neutrality and Personal Privacy.  I'll gladly be educated on how my views are wrong.. but nobody seems to have valid arguments of why getting rid of Net Neutrality is so bad - shouting hyperbolic things such as: "They're destroying the Internet..." "they're going to make it impossible for the little guy..." Prove it... show some research... I'll be happy to concede that I am/was wrong and have one more thing to have unkempt angst over. Net Neutrality - nobody is entitled to Internet.  Similarly you're not entitled to a cell phone, home phone.. water in your home.  If you absolutely *need* Internet, there are places to get it (Libraries, Coffee Shops, Bars, Home Depot, hell.. even a car dealer...

Regarding the quote above:  A tough line to straddle, to be certain.  I think it's tough to be objectively critical of the world around us, while not being angry and want justice (or vengeance is likely more apt).
