I've not known MJ very long - like 3 weeks at this point.  I first found amusement in that she and I have some quirky things in common.  For example, neither of us will simply discard our chewing gum.  Because we both thinks it is shitty to do and worry about the impact to wildlife (among other things).

Today she kept me grounded and gave me comfort as I dealt with getting my Mom settled in her new apartment.  I feel immense joy getting her texts, and today she asked me to not answer my phone so she could leave me a voicemail - and it was great.  She was singing to B-52's and then gave me words of encouragement about what I was going through with my Mom.

One thing unique to MJ is her ability to expose me to music I enjoy.  One song, in particular, I actually really like:  Surf Curse - Disco



MJ knocks me off my feet.. and I have a feeling in my chest that is unfamiliar - and I like it.

Regarding the quote above:  A tough line to straddle, to be certain.  I think it's tough to be objectively critical of the world around us, while not being angry and want justice (or vengeance is likely more apt).
