Fatness... Fitness... the difference.. is 'i' - 2018 👊

After riding in New Mexico and the struggle that the climbing introduced, it really made me consider how significant the "extra" weight I am hauling around puts me at a disadvantage.
As an aside; when I got home and weighed myself, I was at 214 pounds.  The 2 other guys I was riding with I believe were like 170 and 150 pounds. Ugh.

How Losing Weight Improves Performance

"On a steep pitch, things get even more pronounced. Again, let’s say you can hold 200 watts up a two-mile climb with an average grade of 10 percent (ouch!). At 180 pounds, you’d be able to post an average speed of 4.5mph. At 176 pounds, you could average 4.63mph."

So.. my goal this year is to drop some weight.  Being 40-some years of age does not help... living in a place that should be inhabitable in the winter does not help.  So.. diet choices and trainer seat-time will have to suffice until spring.

So... here I am around 210 pounds during the summer of 2017... it will be interesting to see how this develops.
